The Tomball Independent School District is a highly regarded public school system with a reputation for excellence. It serves more than 12,400 students in grades pre-kindergarten through 12 in modern, well-equipped facilities that were designed and built with students’ needs in mind. Learning to be a leader teaches students integrity, honesty, humility, courage, and commitment. These qualities help students realize their hidden potential. Developing leadership
skills is an important part of the overall student experience and can lead to personal and academic accomplishments.

We are honored to have the opportunity as educators to help our students develop new
skills that can lead to lifelong success. One of many successful accomplishments celebrated in the classroom took place when the Texas Education Agency (TEA) released the State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR) scores. Tomball ISD students scored very well on the STAAR exam, which is the state’s assessment. Since the implementation of the STAAR test two years ago, TEA established new passing standards. All districts must meet four index score requirements measuring overall student achievement, student progress in math, reading, and writing, and improvements among students who are economically disadvantaged and in racial/ethnic groups. The fourth index measures college readiness for high school students. This is based on graduation rates and the percentage of students who graduated under the recommended/distinguished high school plans during the previous school year. Our district and every campus exceeded the standard for every index. Tomball ISD students and teachers are to be commended for a job well done.

The district also celebrated as voters approved Bond 2013 – the district’s $160 million bond referendum. Bond 2013 addresses district growth, security, and technology. Over the next five years, the district’s population is expected to increase by more than 3,700 students.Bond 2013 contains various construction projects including four new schools.
